The Proform Performance 900 is a slick little machine with plenty of fun gadgets, and loads of hidden power. The heavy motor can push and push all day. Feel free to run entire marathons on this machine, it won't mind a bit. So if you're looking to choose between the two, stop thinking about it, and get this one. For such a low price, this is an impressive treadmill. The Motor is a medium size 2.25 CHP MACH Z, and the treadmill has all the popular features like cushioning, fold-up, heart-rate monitor, iFit, Ipod Compatibility, Speakers, Backlit display, personal workout programs, and more. Compared to most treadmills in the 599 price range, this is stacked surprisingly well. The warranty isn't too bad either. Check it out and consider it. The Trailrunner 2.0 is a great running treadmill. It is built to be sturdy and durable, yet in a rare combination it can also fold. Most folding treadmills aren't very stable, at least compared to commercial grade, heavy-duty non-folding treadmills. The Trailrunner has a 3.5 HP motor and goes up to a 15% incline, which are both great for training for runners. The Golds Gym Club Trainer 690 is an interesting model in the Gold's Gym Line up. Compared to the Gold's Gym Crosswalk 570, it's $12 dollars cheaper, but has less features and worse specs. It has a small 2.25 CHP motor, a considerably smaller 17" x 50" treadbelt, a 5% incline, and a 250 lb weight limit. Compare that to the Crosswalk and check out the difference. Unless those $12 dollars are very important to you, then there's no reason why you would buy this Club Trainer 690 over the Crosswalk 570. It folds up, it has cushioning, it has 24 workouts, an LCD window, and a 15 year motor warranty with 1 year parts and labor.

This treadmill has a good list of features, and specs aren't bad for such a low cost treadmill. However the 2.0 CHP motor is a bit too small for comfort. The engine is covered by a 25 year warranty, so that makes it easier to trust. The 300 lb weight capacity is impressive, as well as the 20" x 55" treadbelt, the 10 MPH max speed, and the 10% Incline. At sale price this treadmill is $524 which makes it in a class range of generally much lower quality treadmills than it. Compared to its class it's impressive. If this is all you're able or willing to spend for a treadmill, then I'd recommend it. If you can spend a little more, I would on a sturdier model.

One of the top of the line Gold's Gym models. When compared to the rest of the Gold's Gym Models, the 1190 is built with more strength, features, and power than the rest. The engine is a 2.5 CHP G-force motor with power. The treadbelt is a full sized 20" x 60" area to allow you plenty of room to move around. The frame has a lot of plastic, and the deck is a bit light, so if you're a heavy runner, you'll either have to be very careful, or just get a stronger treadmill. Although this is the strongest Gold's Gym model, when compared to other models in this price, it is easy to find stronger and more powerful treadmills in other brands.However if you're light, and like what this treadmill has to offer, then this may be perfect for you.

The gold's Gym Trainer 480 is a very low cost treadmill, and yes, when comparing it to other treadmills under $400 it's very impressive. However, still it would be wise to spend more on a sturdier model if you want it to last long at all. The warranty on this model covers you for 5 years on the motor, and 90 days on parts and labor. The motor is 1.5 CHP. This is much smaller than the standard, and is not meant to hold up to much beating. It's meant for light walking, not running. The treadmill just can't hold up to a lot of running. The belt is 18" x 50" which is small, but if you're small, it may not feel too cramped. It has a small LCD window, some workout programs, a heart rate monitor, and a air cushioning system.

The Gold's Gym Crosswalk 570 gets its name from its upper body crosswalk feature. It has two handles that you can move back and forth as you run, to help work your upper body while running. Most people say that these don't really do much at all, but some people like them, so don't be afraid to try it out. This is actually a very decent treadmill for $599. The only downside of the Crosswalk 570 is its small motor. Compared to bigger motors, A 2.25 motor is not sufficiently large to hold up against heavy runners and consistent usage. The motor may wear out or cause problems down the road. Fortunately it is covered by a 25 year warranty, so if anything does happen to it, it can be replaced for free. Other than that, the 300 lb weight limit, the 20" x 55" treadbelt, the selection of features and everything else is great. So if you're not too heavy, and don't run very often, this may be just the perfect choice for you.
