The Golds' Gym Trainer 550 is a model for those with a small budget, but still want a halfway decent treadmill. It provides an option under $700 for a decent sized motor, a strong weight capacity, and 10 MPH max speed. The 2.75 CHP motor is quite impressive for this price. Compared to most budget treadmills, this motor is bigger and stronger, and will last much longer. The 275 lb weight limit does put off a bit of uneasiness as to the strength of the machine overall. If you're a bigger runner, you may want to get a stronger model and put down a little more cash.
